Doubts and Questions in Trouble Times
~ By Ajahn Amaro ~
The first thing that comes to mind is to be looking at our own mind states and to be reflecting on how we feel about current conditions. Before we jump in and help other people or try and make them feel okay or to be encouraging or comforting, it's good to see where we're coming from. My experience is that if someone is very anxious or upset or angry and I am able to manifest the qualities of peacefulness, of being attentive and receptive and not being reactive or stirred up within myself, then that has a calming and encouraging effect on the other person.
